Running from the Mind

“Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it.” — Oprah Winfrey

Running from the Mind | Year VIII

The Running from the Mind Challenge, organized by Chinmaya Mission Niagara, invites seekers with various levels of experience to quiet their minds through long distance running/walking. The only guidance that Vivekji provides is to run/walk without input and chants the Gayatri Mantra. This guidance ensures that runners paid attention to the thoughts arising in the mind rather than seek distraction from media.

Join us from April 23 to September 29 for the 8th Running from the Mind Challenge. New to this year’s challenge is to track:
— Miles Moved
— Mantras Chanted (Gayatri Mantra)
— Means shared (every marathon reached/practiced [42km] a pair of shoes is shared with the needy)

The 2024 Running from the Mind focus is on chanting the Gayatri Mantra (or your favorite mantra)

“In life, the glory lies not in the quarry, but in the chase. The success is not in the trophy won, but in the race run” said Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda

Running this year has helped to bring positivity, perspective, strength, creativity, stamina, community, inspiration, and connection.”
