The Initiative
This summer, the Loving⇔Earth team invites you to rediscover wonder through Efforts for AWE.
AWE represents Animals, Water, and Earth—three forms of life that sustain and inspire us. From July 4th to September 1st, participate by giving in three intentional ways:
Giving Resources

ANIMALS

Donate to Wildlife SOS and support their mission to protect India’s elephants
Elephants are vital to the health of ecosystems and, as sacred expressions of nature’s harmony, they deserve our care and protection. Your donation to Wildlife SOS will directly support on-the-ground efforts to reduce human-elephant conflict and care for wild elephants in distress. This includes:
- Funding two field biologists who track elephant movements in real time to help prevent conflict and redirect herds safely
- Supporting an Education Officer who works with local villagers to keep families and property safe
- Providing medical care to elephants injured by snares so they can be treated and released back into the wild
- Covering transportation costs to reach remote regions where help is needed most
Our collective contributions will uplift this critical work and help ensure elephants and humans can coexist more peacefully.
Giving Time

WATER

Take part in a local waterway cleanup
Water connects all of us. This summer, join our shared effort to honor and protect our local waterways—whether it’s a flowing stream, gentle creek, or lakeside shore. Every bottle picked up, every piece of litter removed, is an act of love toward the world we all share.
Gather your family, your sanga, or go out on your own. Together, we’ll create ripples of care that extend far beyond the surface.
As you serve, track the total time your group spends cleaning. For example, if three people clean for one hour, that’s 3 hours of effort to log. But if more than one person in your group is part of this campaign, be sure to only count shared hours once—for example, choose just one of you to log the time for any friends who haven’t registered.
We’ll be sharing more guidance and ideas throughout the campaign—so stay tuned for inspiration and support from the whole commUnity.
Log your hours after each cleanup – even 15 – 30 minutes counts!

EARTH

Fast once a week as an act of conservation and contemplation
Fasting is a practice of mindful reduction—an opportunity to tread lightly on the Earth and reflect inward.
We invite you to choose a food-based fast that is both sustainable and personally challenging—something that invites reflection and reminds you of the purpose behind the offering.
Some examples include:
- Skipping one meal entirely
- Avoiding sweet foods or processed snacks
- Refraining from all solid food for the day
While the form of your fast can vary week to week, we invite you to fast on Thursdays to strengthen our sense of shared intention and commUnity. Track your fasting efforts each week here!
